The Gift
In July, 1998, Mr. A. C. Brown
noticed a Christian youth group renovating a house near his. While
visiting with the group, helearned that the youth were willing to
give up a week of their summer and pay $200 to work extremely hard in
order to serve Jesus by serving others. One year later, Mr. Brown
offered to donate his building in downtown Olivia to provide a
facility for what has become the
Christian Community Outreach Center.

The goal of the Christian Community Outreach Center is to unite the community through ecumenical activities for all ages. A Mentoring Program will enable adults to establish relationships and provide an additional support system for the youth in our communities. Service Teams will provide youth an opportunity to learn new skills under the direction of experienced adults. Those skills will then be put to use serving those people in need in our community - perhaps shoveling snow or raking leaves, installing storm windows or repairing a leaky faucet. If there is a need, the Service Team will try to meet it.
The Center has established an After School Homework Help Program. The program is be available to those requiring tutoring or additional help, providing a quiet place to study, supervision, computer lab with internet access, and an after-school snack. The Center continues to host the Annual Christmas Dinner, formerly sponsored by the American Legion.
The space at the Center is used to hold dances or evening activities for Jr. High and Sr. High students. The Center is available to community service groups, organizations or special events.
Right now we still need you! We need your prayers, your time and your financial commitment. We, the Board of Directors, believe God's Divine Will is leading this project. But we are God's instruments and this project can not succeed without the support of many.
